Duplicate Cleaner 1.4 Beta available for download
Hi there, great software, thank you for developing it.
On whish that I have:
Please, implement an expicit search mode. I.e. I would like to search the content of one folder onto a much larger archive-folder but without having this archive matched against itself or the input folder matched against itself.
That would be the missing link in between Araxis-Merge and your software.
Cheers
Gunnar

Hellp,
It is a greate software. I'm using since version 1.3.
I do have some suggestions (for 1.3 and 1.4 versions):
Interface
=========
1. Some dialog boxes could be redisigner or at least smaller (specially the selection assistant dialog box and file search/audio search frames: less wider buttons and frames)
2. There could have some keyboard accelerators (using ALT key)
3. It seems that all tab orders are not correct.
4. CTRL+TAB should change dialog tabs
5. ESC key should close any current dialog box
6. option for not show Splash Screen (About box)
7. when Same File Size or content, the "selection for file size" should be disabled. The same for Same Date option.
8. Could be poassible to rearrange columns (with draging and drop, for instance)
Compatibility:
=============
6. Should also protect 64-bit %ProgramFiles% folder
7. Will it work under Windows 2008 and Windows 7?
8. Why not provide a 64-bit version for faster operations?
It may be pretty simply to just set the compiler to generate 64-bit code instead of 32-bit code...
UFA!
That's it
Thanks for the attention.

I installed on XP SP3 and it runs ok. On a minimal install of XP SP1 it complains it can't find md5.dll when it gets to actually checking file contents. I tried moving the dll to windows\system32 but it still didn't find it. The SP1 box also has two HDDs in case that is relevant. Otherwise, looking good so far. Good job!
Couple of things that might be useful - 1) add a button or right mouse to "remove selected items from duplicate list" 2) add a refresh button to check that files on the duplicate list still exist and remove from the list if they don't (ie you find a huge tree and delete it through explorer, or you don't have write access to a share and delete it on the server - so need the list updating without all the hash calculations...)
