Case insensitive searches

Post by MvL_1729b »

Hi,

I'm trying to clean up my music folders. I would like to use the music tags as a starting point, but when I checked the results I found out that files with the same title or artist but in different case (e.g. james blunt and James Blunt) or not flagged as duplicates.

I tried finding a way to disable this comparison, by looking in the options and trying various fuzzy search settings - but this behavior seems consistent: my duplicate files are not correctly flagged.

Is there a way of performing case INsentitive searches somehow, that I have missed?

Thank,
Marco

The tag scans are case insensitive - are you sure you don't have another option ticked as well, such as same content or size?

Ah, I figured it out - when I changed a tag (track number) the files were correctly found by duplicate cleaner. I performed a batch update on the files and then the duplicates were found again.
I guess there was some strange characters in the audio tags. Thanks for your reply.
