First post here. I've been searching for days and have not found a solution to this issue I have.
So, I have about 2TB of music in all formats from *.wav to *.mp3. It's completely disorganized and
at best will be under ../album name.
So, my goal is to keep only the album versions of the songs with the same md5/hash signature.
So for example, take Stevie Wonder "Songs In The Key Of Life" which probably has 10 singles on it.
I would like to keep the album in tact and delete the 10+ single versions I have as long as they have the same md5/hash.
Is there a strategy to accomplish this or must I spend weeks rearranging my library to something well
organized?
BTW DCP finds everything I need. It's just filtering it that I need help with.
Any and all pointers will be greatly appreciated as the ultimate goal is after pruning duplicates to back up my library.
TIA !

I can't think of an automatic way of doing this.
One thing - if you have a folder that just contains an album you want to keep, you can either-
-Click 'protect' on the folder, that way you won't mark it accidentality if using 'all but one in each group' or similar.
or
-right click on a track on the album and select 'Mark all files outside this folder that have a duplicate inside this folder' - then that will mark the stray copies of the songs.
