When selecting .txt, why are jpg also selected then?

Post by dcwul62 »

After a search for duplicates, I check
a. File type contains txt
b. shortest file names in each group

Mark by group, all but one file in each group

Then why are e.g. jpg files also being marked?

Even when unchecking 'b' above
jpg files are also selected.

confused...

hope someone can help.

Best regards

Because you are asking it to mark all but one file in each group - it will always mark all but one.

Code: Select all

a. File type contains txt
b. shortest file names in each group
Anything listed here is just what you would prefer to mark, if there is a choice within the group.

For stricter marking, try "All but one matching set in each group"

When I select "All but one matching set in each group" then txt files are not listed
When I try filter txt files, then nothing is displayed.

How to just have duplicates .txt files displayed and then delete shortest file name, always leaving 1 in place.

thanks.
