Hello everyone
Would it be possible to have an option who automatically selects the file names ending by (1), (2), (3) etc (provided the original one exists ) ?
exemple in this exemple
Physique(3).docx
Physique(2).docx
Physique(1).docx
Physique.docx
the 3 first files would be selected for further removal.
in this other example, there is no filename without suffix ,
Example(6).docx
Example(5).docx
Example(3).docx
Example(2).docx
Example(1).docx
so the 4 first files would be selected for further removal, leaving intact the file named Example(1).docx
Additionnally, in this last configuration, after deleting the unwanted duplicates, it might be cool to be proposed to rempve the (x) suffixes in the single remaining file names, provided of course that another file with the same name and other size does not already exist.
Thanks in advance
best regards

I don't think you can do this exactly, but you could use the Selection Assistant - 'All but one in each group'
Experiment with the 'Preferring to mark' settings.
E.g. Filename Contains (

I know it's not the easiest solution but you can definetly do that by going in the "mark by text pattern" tab and selecting "Use regular expressions". It's not super simple but there are plenty of example on how to use regular expressions online and given that you don't need any super complex filtering it should not take too much time to undestand how to do it
