Delete error

Post by Sundog »

I am a newbie. What option can I change so an error such as the following does not occur?

"Delete Error: C:\Users\TEMP\Favorites\Get Bookmark Add-ons.URL : Access to the path 'C:\Users\TEMP\Favorites\Get Bookmark Add-ons.URL' is denied."

"Delete Error: C:\Users\Laney.M17X\AppData\Local\Google\Picasa2\db3\tags.txt : Access to the path 'C:\Users\Laney.M17X\AppData\Local\Google\Picasa2\db3\tags.txt' is denied."

and many others.

Are these files that are still in use by the operating system? If they are then they are probably locked out. I wouldn't recommend using Duplicate Cleaner to remove files from your live AppData folder - it could affect the running of your system.

Re AppData files, I would agree, IF the associated exe is running.

If it's not, and the file shows zero bytes, why not remove it, to clean up my enormous dupe list?

Is there a possible timing issue involved?
Perhaps anti-virus or similar hitting the file at the same time.

If you attempt a second time to delete the files, does it still fail?

Are the files read-only?
