Hi There,
I am big fan of DCP and have been using it for the past few years to periodically clean up my photo collection.
After updating to the newest version of DCP, I ran the cleaner on a couple of folders (with about 40K photos) and found about 1500 or so duplicate images. As per my standard procedure, I created a separate folder (not part of the initial folders I should add) into which I move all the duplicates.
My issue/problem this time around is that when I actioned the de-duplication process (i.e. clicked on "Move files" in the "File Removal, Copying, Exporting and More" tab) and the first batch of duplicates was moved, the "Duplicate files" tab did not update. It continued to display ALL of the duplicates rather than just the remaining duplicate files that hadn't been deduped yet (as it has in the past -- at least as far as I can recall). This meant that in order to see all of the remaining duplicates, I needed to go back and re-run the scan. This is a huge PIA because it needs to rescan all of the metadata again, which takes almost 10 minutes.
Now I may be just remembering this incorrectly, but I am fairly certain that in the past, once you deduped a group by moving the duplicates to a different folder, that group was removed from the results tab. If so, then I think a bug has been introduced into a recent version and this is no longer happening.
Any help / suggestions that people can provide to resolve this issue would be most appreciated.
Many thanks,
Canman
Results not updating after moving duplicates
Re: Results not updating after moving duplicates
I use this application constantly, and do extensive testing. I just launched a photo de-duping courses.
The only time what you're describing has ever happened to me is if I clicked 'Copy' instead of 'Move'.

It's possible there was an issue moving the files - in that case they would be left in the list - was there anything in the log file?
