The UI and therefore the UX is poor when reading the scan results (under the scanning tab, right hand panel).

The completion percentage/est time isn't in the 'Total' section because it's only shown for that particular operation - there could be more than one of these running at a time.
There is no total percent complete because the program doesn't usually know how much is left - the amount left to do and calculate keeps changing based on the results of the previous stage. (Especially in Regular mode when using multiple criteria and quick-hashes).
