Scan results

Post by Fred »

When a scan finishes, the program immediately and automatically shuts down. The duplicate file tab, when the program is restarted, show "Nothing scanned yet"

What am I doing wrong?

Sounds like a crash, though it shouldn't just shut down like that. Which version? Does it come up with the 'scan complete' window?

I am using version 2.0.4. It does show "Scan complete" immediately before closing. I have tried to scan 3 times - identical results.

Odd - perhaps 2.0.5 will fix this - it's had a lot of underlying changes.

I have a big problem trying to delete some duplicate programs files from an external USB disk. A message appears saying "protected file", even if clicking in such file and searching its properties is not "read only". Can anyone help me to solve this annoying problem? Thanks in advance.

This may seem like a dumb question...

Does the list of search results also show the "original" file on the computer?

For example, if I select everything and delete it will I no longer have the file (music) or will I still have one copy left on my computer?

Thanks

There is no such thing as an "original" file.

Selection Assistant will attempt to leave one copy, though the particular settings & or manual selections you make can affect that.

Now there is a button, "Groups with all files marked", that if anything does show in there, then those groups - unless changed, will delete all files in the group, including the "original".

When I run a scan the results say that zero files were scanned. What is wrong?

Check your filters are valid and your input folders are set to 'included' not 'excluded'
