I am still using v4 but am willing to upgrade to v5 if it helps.
I am trying to find the 'best' photos amongst many similar photos. I have already moved all the true duplicates out of the way, but I still have over 6,000 groups of 'very close matches'.
Is there a way to mark the files within a group leaving just the single ‘best’ unmarked (ie both largest dimensions AND largest file size)? Obviously in groups without a clear winner ‘all files’ or ‘no files’ should be marked so that they can be reviewed manually.
I had planned on marking all the files with 'smallest dimensions' and then the 'smallest file size' until I realized that the markings were not additive (ie they cleared any previous markings).
Thanks for any help.

Re: Selecting 'Best Photo'
You can try using the Selection Assistant with 'All but one matching set in each group' and multiple fields
It's explained here-
