Image Mode continues to crash near the end of the scan

Post by WhiteOakAcorn »

I have the default search criteria in place to make it simple. The scan location is a local Photo folder that has a number of other subfolders. The scan starts up fine and then pauses for a moment. Then crashes. The log files do not show any information. I have run the application as an administrator as well. I check the Event logs and show two errors. I have included them below:

Event ID 1000

Faulting application name: Duplicate Cleaner 5.exe, version: 5.0.0.13, time stamp: 0x613a5450
Faulting module name: combase.dll, version: 10.0.19041.1348, time stamp: 0xbaf10630
Exception code: 0xc0000005
Fault offset: 0x00000000000bb2bd
Faulting process id: 0xbf4
Faulting application start time: 0x01d81867fc439d9c
Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Duplicate Cleaner 5\Duplicate Cleaner 5.exe
Faulting module path: C:\WINDOWS\System32\combase.dll
Report Id: c5ba8455-b5ee-4ce1-af70-4277601e9d07
Faulting package full name:
Faulting package-relative application ID:

The other scans seem to work just fine. The image scan is the only one that continues to crash. Is anyone else seeing the same problem?

I have noticed a second error in the Event logs at the same time. A .NET runtime error.

Can you try limiting the scan to one image type to narrow the crash down? (e.g. *.jpg)
It has been reported to be crashing on HEIC images on some systems.
