Won't even start

Just installed Duplicate Cleaner 5 and receive this error box when trying to run it.

Sounds like it may not be installed properly, or the system needs updates/rebooting.
Try removing the program and restarting/re-installing.

Is /appdata/roaming/ an expected place for DC to be installed into?

It says "8 protected folders added".
Not sure what that means, but when I look on my end, I see the instalDir with 5 subdirectories therein.


What OS are you running?
Might an A/V be interfering?

Just using Windows 10 and let the install program do his thing without any tweaking.

P.S. I've restarted the computer, unistalled the program, reinstalled it and still have the same error.

Does installing the version from the Windows 10 Store help? You can uninstall the existing (not working) version first.
