First time user here. Seems like a great product. However, I am trying to figure out which files to delete. I have marked only one in each group. But when I delete them I get an error message and a log. I.E. 67 files were not processed as they were protected by Duplicate Cleaner according to your settings in Options Menu. 859 Files had deleted errors. (See Log Window). 0 file(s) have been deleted. What does this mean? What am I doing wrong?
It means those files are protected by Duplicate Cleaner - they are either DLL or EXE, or in your Program Files or Windows folders. You shouldn't delete anything from these folders unless you know what you are doing. You can disable this behavior in the Options drop down menu.
You need to look in the log window that pops up to see the other errors (you could always paste some here if you want to know what they mean). It's possibly a permissions issue.
Thank you for your help. I am still learning this and your right I don't want to mess around with things I don't know about. Here is the the error log ( at least some of it) that you said I could post. Thank you again for your help.

They all look like system files that you may not have the permissions to delete (or they may be read-only).
It's best not to run Duplicate Cleaner on system folders, - you should restrict it to files you manage, such as My Documents. That way you know what you are deleting and that it won't do harm to the running of your system.
