Cannot delete file

What folder was giving the delete errors? An external drive or a windows folder? Note that it currently gives errors on read-only files when bypassing recycle bin.

Still working on a fix for the delete errors - I have switched the delete method back to Windows API calls (as in DC 1.4.x) - hope to get a beta posted for people to test soon.

After the Selection Assistant issues, it appears:
"322 file(s) had delete errors"
"0 files have been deleted"

I can not delete then neither move to a new folder.
What can i do?
I have the version 1.4.3.

I was running an earlier 2.n version (2.0.4?) and it worked fine on my 64bit Vista Ultimate machine. Upgraded to 2.0.5 and now I've noticed 2 issues. The first, fairly minor, when I switch screens using go screen, it somtimes pops up an exception "Are you sure you want to cancel scan?" I click NO, because I don't. The scan continues to run, but the GUI disappears from all virtual desktops until the scan completes. Not a deal breaker, just annoying.

The second issue, when the dup file list appears, the Image Preview, Selection Assistant and File Removal buttons are all disabled and greyed out. I can still access Selection Assistant through a right click on an item in the list, but I have no way to actually delete the files...bummed.

Tested with Go Screen and it seems to work ok (at least using XP). I'm guessing the two issues you have are related. I've tweaked the next release so that only user-initiated closure should trigger the 'Cancel' prompt, hopefully this should fix your issue.

Just took the whole D drive and followed the procedure, works a treat!
Make sure you do BOTH steps, taking ownership of files and then granting permissions for the new owner. Close all windows and DC and try deleting again.

Oh, and you can save your list before exiting Duplicate Cleaner, in case you've already sifted through thousands of files like I did...
