2 Bugs: Drop Marked from List. Removes Almost All

Post by comp9 »

I'm using Duplicate Cleaner Pro v3.09

Please help me with two bugs that I am running into. They are making it difficult for me with the current folder I'm in. I'm working with a folder of jpgs. I use selection assistant to mark the shortest file name in each group.

The first bug. More than just the shortest file is selected in almost all of the groups. For example, in a group consisting of:
-100_2468.JPG
-Copy (2) of 100_2468.JPG
-Copy of 100_2468.JPG

Both 100_2468.JPG and Copy of 100_2468.JPG get selected as the shortest file name. Only 100_2468.jpg should be, "Copy of..." is much longer and is actually longer than "Copy (2)..." is.

The second bug. After marking the shortest filename in each group there are still at least 131 files unmarked, at least one from each group. I want to remove all those I marked from the list so I right-click and select "Drop marked from list" Something terrible happens: The list becomes almost entirely blank. I should have at LEAST 131 remaining (because of bug 1).

Bug 1:
Not a bug, more of a wording issue in the selection assistant! It should read: 'Shortest file names in each group', ie it selects all but the longest. This is fixed in the next update.

Bug 2:
Not a bug - you probably have the 'Automatically remove group orphans' option turned on (Options drop down menu). This will remove any groups when there is only one file left in them.

thanks!
