Opens the currently selected file with the default Windows application.

 

Select an application to use to open this file. TextCrawler will remember this selection.

 

Opens Windows Explorer with the selected folder highlighted.

Toggles the preview window to show the results of a replace operation.  This doesn't write to the file.

 

Note: Not available in 'Preview all matches together' mode.

Opens the Scratchpad and displays a copy of the selected file with the proposed replacements in it.  This doesn't write to the file.

 

Creates a temporary file with the replacements in, and sends this and the original file to an external Diff tool for comparison. The original file is unchanged.

 

The external Diff tool can be specified in Options - External Programs.

 

A Diff tool is an application for comparing text files, highlighting changes.  A good free (Open source) tool is WinMerge [http://winmerge.org/]

 

The current file is checkmarked. When files are checkmarked, only they are included in the next operation.

Inverts the current checkmarks. (i.e. marked files are unmarked, and vice-versa).

Unmarks all files in the list.

Opens a window to allow moving or copying of selected or marked files.

Opens a window to allow deletion of selected or marked files.

Allows you to rename the currently selected file.

Copies the full path and file names of the currently selected files to the clipboard.

Shows the Windows properties page for the currently selected file.
