Files not precessed as they are protected

I get the above error however when I navigate to the folder (even directly from the app) I can delete without a problem. I checked attribs and nothing is set to protect them. Is this another "bug and a half"? - or am I doing something wrong?

Check the status of the 'Protect...' options in the Options drop down menu.
