FEATURE REQUEST: Bulk rename based on image similarity

Post by bsacco »

Many of my photos have missing meta data OR the dates were input wrong.

Is there a way AFTER you have made your selections in SELECTION ASSISTANT to have DCP% rename ALL other files in the GROUP to your sole selected image in each group.

This provide consistency and continuitly and elimiate the choas between names of files vs. just comparing the images of files.

This would be a huge feature if your program could do this.

You can't do this currently but it may be something to look at for a possible new feature. Of course the files would need to be in different folders (or would need a 'copy number' suffix).

I agree - this could be useful.
Options: 1) rename all to the same name (adding an index number in the end if in the same folder) (original suggestion)
2) use the original filenames as suffix to a single common user defined name (or the name of the unselected file)
3) additonally, move all the files to a common directory
