CNET adware

Post by tpo »

There were some devastating reports about CNET / Download.com adding ad/spyware "on the fly" to software available through the sites [1].

That's why I'm weary to infect my computer by downloading and installing TextCrawler from CNET.

Is there some other "clean" source for TextCrawler?

Thanks,

Our products on CNET do not have their adware wrapper - we asked them to remove it.

Snapfiles has a direct download link from our site

Thanks for asking that question. I'm leery of downloading from Cnet too. I did download textcrawler but haven't yet installed it. It's good to know it won't have the adware wrapper!
