Duplicate Cleaner is Great! Thank you!
Here are some additions that I would like to have:
1: Add "Remove Selected from list(Without Deleting)" at least on the right click menu (I think this would be a Worth while addition)
2:Duplicate Pictures Tab with split view (duplicate list on bottom and when selecting a file on the duplicate list, automaticly show a small images of all the duplicates in the top section. Also add date picture taken to the details.
3: Synchronize 2 folders. Option to select to folders and find any files that are NOT duplicates and copy them. Also report files that may be newer version.
Duplicate Cleaner v1.3 features / wishlist
4: Orphaned Files Tab. When deleting duplicates, list orphaned files on a different tab. This would be great because every time I have de-dupped my files, I have also tried to "centralize" my data. It should be able to select files on the orphaned list and move to specified location. The move feature should have a "Master From root folder" and "Master To root folder" and ability to keep directory structure at destination.
This is a great program, love the features, especially the Master tree. My only hesitation in putting this to work on my entire storage is the use of CRC. MD5 would give me confidence that I wouldn't accidentally delete files that were in fact different. CRC at 32 bits isn't enough for the Terabyte or so most of use probably have these days. Any idea when MD5 might feature? Other programs use it (eg f2ko's) and they are quick, but they lack the selection criteria you have here. MD5 would make it just perfect!
Is it me? Or the delete function is really sloooow This doesnt make sense to me.
The program performed GREAT to find duplicates on my 500GB HD. It found over 8000 duplicates now when I try to delete something it takes way to long, the last delete I made was for 2000+ files it is taking more than 40 minutes now something is wrong, finding duplicates should be a lot faster than deleting files.
By the way:
My CPU is an 2300+ AMD Sempron.
I use Windows 2000 Professional.
I selected to delete without the recycle bin option.
Also, the 29 minutes it took to check for all duplicates (using CRC) was amazingly fast, because of the size of my HD (500GB) and the amount of files I have (pictures and mp3), so I think MD5 could be I nice feature.
