I have created quite a few backups. I wondered if there was a way to see what files are only in one place? For example I have pictures backed up on an external drive from a couple of years ago. Can I compare it to the pictures on my hard drive to see what might be missing?

Re: comparing folders
Everything 1.5 Alpha
Enter your two directories:
(that says, c:/pics/italy OR z:/backups/pics/italy, so it will search both of those trees)
Right-click the 'Name' column, Right-click the 'Find Name Duplicates' context-menu item, select, "Find Unique.
That will show you files that are not duplicated.
"Not duplicated".
Not duplicated can be not duplicated between directory trees, &/or, not duplicated within the same directory tree.
if you had:
c:/pics/italy/mona.jpg
c:/pics/italy/lisa.jpg
c:/pics/italy/aep.jpg
c:/pics/italy/aephoto.jpg
z:/backups/pics/italy/mona.jpg
z:/backups/pics/italy/lisa.jpg
z:/backups/pics/italy/aep.jpg
aephoto.jpg would show, as that file is not duplicated.
if you had:
c:/pics/italy/mona.jpg
c:/pics/italy/lisa.jpg
c:/pics/italy/funnypics/lisa.jpg
z:/backups/pics/italy/mona.jpg
nothing would show.
mona.jpg is there twice (happens to be different directory trees).
lisa.jpg is there twice (happens to be both within the c: directory tree).
There is more that can be done, but that's a start.

Re: comparing folders
Do not want to 'steal' the thread of aephoto, but actually I had something similar in mind as well.
But then... using Duplicate Cleaner.
A suggestion may be to have a Duplicate Cleaner group in the context menu
with submenu: 'Add folder to Duplicate Cleaner'
user selecting next folder and again select 'Add folder to Duplicate Cleaner'
and maybe another folder..
then Duplicate Cleaner > Scan with Duplicate Cleaner
and a 'Clear Folders' to remove the folder settings within DC.
Positively meant suggestion!
