Thanks for the update.
I just installed 2.4 and now I am getting an error (twice) at startup. The programm starts after clicking proceed in the error dialog boxes.
The error is the following:

Hi,

I love TextCrawler, it's fast and it is very powerful. However, after updating to 2.4 I experience something similar to the error Rumbo mentioned. In my case it is in Windows7 (64-bit). The biggest difference is that Windows7 comes up with a "TextCrawler has stopped working" message and then it closes TextCrawler.

This message pops up twice and then the Windows message pops up:"TextCrawler has stopped responding. Windows is searching for a solution."
That dialog disappears as well after a couple of seconds and then nothing more happens. Hopefully this can help you find the cause.

For me the startup errors are gone with v2.5
