Re: Why does DV choose a smaler file with a smaller bitrate over bigger file and a higher bitrate?
It's there in the Selection Assistant- You want to checkmark "Smallest file sizes in each group" and "Bit rate" - "Lowest/blank". This will put a cross against the smallest values, marking them for deletion. You can use the arrows to re-order the 'Preferring to mark' li...

Re: Send ALL selected files to external player

If it helps, you can disable the Internal player in the settings and send files to the media player by double clicking (quicker than the context menu).

Re: 5.21.2 quiting
There isn't a verbose mode.
If it's crashing like this it is often due to the image libraries for scanning Raw format images.
-If you are scanning mixed formats, try unchecking 'Include camera RAW files' in the search filters and see if it still crashes.
-Try disabling 'Use image metrics caching'

Re: How to simply de-select a few sub folders?
There isn't a way to do this in 'search' panel, but in the tree you can multi-select many subfolders by clicking on the first, then shift clicking on the last. You can then drag multiple folders across. You'd need to set those the excluded in the search panel (again, you can shift-click to multisele...
