Drives, mixing of size units.

Drives (& the graphic aside), mixing of size units. both Size & Free Space "mix" GB & TB so if you're reading 58.7 GB 1.93 TB it's kind of meaningless, as ones mind doesn't read both the number & the Unit, they only see the number so they say 58 > 1 which is entirely incorr...

Oddly, does not have Length?

Likewise (I suppose it is in the Results list), while you can display (MediaInfo) data on a file, & while you do use mediainfo.exe, it does not display Length nor is Length shown on the timeline in the Preview window.

Image Mode / Video Mode - identify Exact Matches

Image Mode / Video Mode - identify Exact Matches Image Mode (Video Mode) when any mode other then Exact Match is selected you should specifically identify "exact matches" looking down a list of thumbs, you may see sets of files that seem to have all the same "close" match, but yo...

Sub-options should always display

Search filters If All file extensions is checked the Include / Exclude filters do not /appear/ (do not show) Not seeing them, & never having had the occasion to want a specific include/exclude filter, sends one scurrying around trying to find, "where is that option, it has to be there"...

Re: Video mode -> Hash (Video), what does that do?

V+A must be using different algorithm, ffmpeg method which is much slower (then V only or A only) need it be that way? V (or A) is 0:05 (5 seconds) V+A is 4:01 (4 minutes) with V+A, the same algorithm, twice (separately, not in parallel, at that) i don't really understand just what that different ha...

No overflow indicator. So I'm running a scan & I can't understand why it's showing files it should not be showing? And I check this & I check the other &... Finally I say, "let me add the directory, again". And it then showed, twice!? And I'm like what? I had the same sets of f...

Re: Video mode -> Hash (Video), what does that do?

ffmpeg -i input.mp4 -map 0 -c copy -f streamhash -hash md5 - vs ffmpeg -i INPUT -f streamhash out.sha256 So it seems it's the -c copy that makes the difference in speed? With -c copy, ~25000 frames at a time . Without it, ~350 frames at a time . ("At a time". At a time I don't know what? ...

Re: Video mode -> Hash (Video), what does that do?

Neat. I'll have to play with that. I'll assume you are using streamhash rather then stream copy - even for V+A (as it is worlds faster). (And you could always hash the separate V & A hashes that streamhash gives to "generate" a V+A hash. And while that would be different from the hash ...

Re: Video mode -> Hash (Video), what does that do?

Ah, so this: How to md5 the video track (only) in ffmpeg.

Never knew such a thing (option in ffmpeg) existed.

Re: Copy-Paste File names

> Are you needing to do this from within DC, particularly? Oh, you're using DC to actually find the dups. If not, there is nothing better then Everything. Well, there still is nothing better then Everything. In Everything, do a search for: directory\names1\ That will list your files in names1. You c...
