The batch editor runs in regular expression mode by default:- try unticking the 'Regular Expression' option on this batch command if you want it to treat it as a standard search term.
Note you need TextCrawler 2.2 to have this option.

The files must have a tiny difference (eg some kind of metadata date stamp in the header). Another reason could be corruption, and DC is failing when trying to read the contents. Try and see if they produce a different value using the Digitalvolcano Hash Tool.

Sorry you are getting this error. Was it an image scan, or standard? There is currently an issue when scanning a large amount of files in one go (500,000+). It is unrelated to the amount of memory you have. We are looking into a fix for this. For now, you may have to break down your scans into small...

Thanks for this, no need to email. Looks like an integer overflow (max size is 2,147,483,647) - will be able to fix this for the next update. Thanks again!

Docx and doc are totally different formats internally - docx is basically a zip file, so I'm not surprised there is no similarity. Not sure of a way round this when checking on a binary level.
