Using DCP5 to find photo matches with no EXIF data.

I discovered that DCP5 is the MOST powerful way to find BULK photo matches with no EXIF data OR the wrong date in the file NAME. The problem is, I have found no way to rename these FOUND files with their matched photo in BULK . I'm I missing something here in DCP5? Does DCP5 have a way of doing this...

Re: Formatting the file naming when creating folders and subdirectory trees

Where is the 'metadata' setting for creating output folders? I cannot find it. Please advise. YES. If you could add the feature of predetermining the FORMAT of FOLDER and FILE NAMES it would be extremely helpful. In fact, if you could PREVENT the FOLDER and FILE NAMES from CO-MINGLING hyphens with u...

Formatting the file naming when creating folders and subdirectory trees

QUESTION: Can you format the way DCP formats the Folder names when choosing to create a folders and subdirectories at the destination when moving or copying files after scanning? I have a specific need because the way you name folders affect the way the computer sorts your folders. I am working with...

Re: best practice - learning DCP

I'm dealing a ton of dupes.

Many of the photos I have do not have exif data available.

Is there a shortcut foolproof way of naming files BEFORE they enter DCP so that the program identifies the files I DO NOT WANT TO KEEP when selecting "Mark by Group"?

Thanks, bob

Re: best practice - learning DCP

Is there a feature where you program auto selects the best available picture to save among all the duplicates? That is, scan for the largest file with the most complete EXIF data and ensures it displays a working thumbnail image that has the correct orientation.

If not, can I make this suggestion?

Re: best practice - learning DCP

ANother question. When you are finished deduping and ready to mark files "visually" by using the Thumbnail view is it possible to select only the DUpes that have NO PREVIEW THUMBNAIL VIEW for deletion? Often I get dupes where one file displays the Thumbnail preview while the other does not...

Re: best practice - learning DCP

OK, thanks. But I am having an issue. When I follow your instructions I get stuck at the last step (marking and moving). Under Remaining files I have checked the boxes of the files I want to MARK. The program draws a line through the name of the file. This is quite a misleading UI cue because it app...

Re: best practice - learning DCP

What are the settings if I want to ONLY find the UNIQUE files between two Folders?

Then once I find them how do I copy the unique files over to the other folder so that I now have EXACT copies between the two folders?

Thanks, bob

Re: Disorganized Photos to a Single Directory?

Is it best practice to gather all your photos into ONE folder THEN run DCPro for duplicate marking then move all the dupes to a separate folder? OR Is it best practice to run a duplicate check "as you go" on a series of smaller FOLDERS that contain your photos? The reason I ask is because ...
