Re: Hard Links feature tweak (soft links)?
Version 5 has Windows shortcuts, Symbolic (soft) links (relative and absolute) and hard-links.

I have an NTFS folder structure with many symlinks created with windows mklink instruction. I'm trying to get rid of all the valid symlinks that ...

Parent folder context menu selection doesn't work
Trying to reproduce Mark By Location functionality in DC4 where I was able to delete all duplicates found in a parent folder and all its subfolders. I right-click the duplicate file and select 'Parent Folders' (specify the folder) -> 'Mark' -> any and all options fail to mark anything.

Re: 500,000 limit
Thank you!
I hope you don't mind my asking a potentially disquieting question, but did moving to .Net improve speed performance or hamper it? Are there significant advantages to moving to version 4?
Thanks again!

500,000 limit
I've reached the duplicate files limit - 500,000 files.

Re: Strange standby behavior
Thoroughly agree. The first test should be to see if the problem can be recreated. I haven't done so, but will try to do. I just posted the problem wondering if others had experienced it.While it may be a "solution", if there is an underlying problem, it should be fixed :-).
Thanks!

Re: Strange standby behavior
Thanks for the help.
Yes, your understanding of my experience is correct.
I have DC Pro v.3.2.6
Clear Cache is located in 'More Options'->'Scanning'
Without knowing the depths to why (I presume the SQL DB file in RAM is somehow corrupted while in standby), the easy solution seems to be to exit ...

Re: How to find NON-duplicates?
If the backup folders match identically, you could use FreeFileSync to do the job.
Otherwise, to use DC, you could try something like this. Disclaimer, it's untested.
1) Enter the paths of both drives in 'Scan Location'
2) Click 'Scan Now'
3) Use the Selection Assistant tool -> 'Select by text ...

Strange standby behavior
Wondering if anybody else experienced this after coming out of standby. My last run of DC did not find a huge number of duplicates that I knew existed. So I cleared the cache and re-ran the scan. It still did not find those duplicates. I exited DC and restarted it. The database reloaded, showing the ...
