Remove empty folders tool

Overview

This standalone tool is for removing empty folders (or directories) on your hard drive.  An empty folder is defined as a folder with no files in it.  Any folders contained within need to be empty too.
Empty folders only use a tiny amount of space on your drive but cleaning them up can help with navigating your files, simplifying your folder structure by removing dead ends.

Usage

Enter a folder name from which to start the scan into the folder box at the top of the tab.  You can either type or paste a folder name, click on the folder browse button to select, or drag a folder from Windows Explorer.  The Start scan button beings the search, which can be cancelled any time with the Cancel button next to it.
Once complete, the folders are listed below.  They are all pre-checked for removal.  You can toggle the checkmark  by clicking the checkbox or selecting the row and hitting the space bar.   You can multiselect rows using the shift key. Use CTRL-A to select all rows.

You can also view a folder in Windows Explorer by selecting it and clicking on the 'Show folder in Windows Explorer' button.

To remove the empty folders, click the 'Remove empty folders' button below the list.  They will be permanently deleted - be sure you have backed up first beforehand if you have valuable data!
