Files being deleted on Win7

Hi there,

I have a problem with TextCrawler running on win7. When using a set of regular expressions to batch replace my files, a single file disappears (is being deleted). Turning on the .bak option prevents the file from being deleted but now I think it's too risky to use the software.

I tried version 2.0 and 2.2 on win7 but they both delete a single file from the specified folder for no reason. I used version 2.0 on XP without any problems.

Can you advise?

Thanks!
Daniel

Is this just one file with this issue? Does it have any unusual name or attributes? It sounds like it is deleting the file, then being unable to write the new one in it's place.

Nothing special about those files at all. I can even make a new text document, make a couple of copies and still one of these files disappears. Could this be a win7 permission problem?

Thanks!

Very odd,
Can you send a screenshot of your inputs? Are you using the 'caching' option?

thanks!

Hi DV,

I'm perplexed. I have been trying to reproduce the problem for over an hour but everything seems to work just fine now (version 2.0). I have no idea what's going on but I suspect my PC was having a bad week. I will continue monitoring the replacement behavior and get back when things go wrong again. In the meantime, here's the capture of the input in case it's still of use to you:

Thanks for your attention.

Kind regards,
