I ran Duplicate Cleaner and it showed that I had close to 300 duplicate files on my hard drive, which I deleted to the Recycle Bin and then deleted from the Recycle Bin. About five minutes after I did this, I reran a Duplicate Cleaner scan and it showed that I still had the same 300 duplicate files on my hard drive. What gives? Why does this happen? Are files ever deleted? If so, what's the best way to permanently get rid of them?

Duplicate Cleaner
Re: Duplicate Cleaner not removing files?
An unsafe way would be to have Duplicate Cleaner permanently delete all marked duplicate files right-away.
Are you sure you:
- deleted the files, to the Recycle Bin? Did you check the Bin's contents before emptying it?
- did not copy the files to another location where they were found on the second scan?
