Its an old Pc and i have many many duplicate files including Dll EXE which i have been told to be wary of. I am thinking of deleting all but one of each of the files, I have created a restore point and will be deleting them to the recycle bin, So that if i have any problems i can restore them from the recycle bin, Failing that use system restore, Am i totally wrong in thinking that this should my Pc back to normal if i delete some of the wrong files

System restore only affects files that are part of the operating system. It will not restore files that exist in your mydocuements, program files, desktop or any of the variety of other places people store their files. Counting on the recycle bin can also be somewhat risky. If possible I'd follow the advice of other posts - only delete duplicates of the files that you made yourself or know you have a backup of. Which is an excellent idea before you delete any file, anywhere. Backup your data regularly.
