Duplicate folders

Hi

How does duplicate folder functionality work? Here is an example of result of duplicate folders.

Folder1 : 13.6 GB, 1270 files, 25 sub folders
Folder2 : 13.6 GB, 1303 files, 25 sub folders

At the bottom, there is a note: Depending on your scan criteria and filters, these folders may contain other non-duplicate files.

Clearly, the folders folder1 and folder2 are not duplicates. Why is Duplicate cleaner tagging them as duplicates?

Because the leftover files must be outside the scope of your scan - it depends what mode and settings you were running. They may also be system or hidden files that were skipped.

No, they are not system files. They are all photos. Is there a way to run the scan so that the result shows me exact duplicate folders only?

They must have been skipped - check the log file. It's still possible they had a system or hidden flag on them.

For exact duplicate folders-
Uncheck the following:-
-Skip system folders
-Skip hidden folders
-Skip files in ignorelist
-Don't follow NTFS.
Run in:
-Regular Mode: Match by exact content.
-Don't have any other criteria set (you can check on the summary in the Scan tab)
