How do you folks use virtual folders?

How do you folks use virtual folders?
For me, because we can't select files for later deletion when the drive is connected, virtual folders don't look useful until I have completed my big deduplication task and have clean backups that are unlikely to change. Then I could compare that static backup to a new backup so that I don't keep too many copies of the same backup data.
What uses have you found for virtual folders?
