Properties of a file accessible from right-click

Ideally if someone hovers over a file, a post-it note type window could show the details of the file, much like windows explorer does. Perhaps this could be turned on or off in Options.

If one (alt) right-clicks on a file, the contect menu of choices about select or unselect or what have you could also include a choice to Properties, which would bring up the file Properties simple or advanced.

Of course the issue would be if someone changes the properties on a file, if the property changed alters the duplication selection criteria, such as for music if the Artist or Title or Album is refined, THEN would the program be smart enough to recognize the change and show the change in the results lists.

Mind you you currently offer people the chance to rename the file. You also offer the chance to open the containing folder, and once they do that they could locate the file, alter the file's properties there.

Why not save a bunch of steps and give access to Properties.

In fact, most other programs when you choose open containing folder it not only opens the folder but it puts the highlight and cursor on the file(s) in question. If you could do that also, that'd be nice too.

Remembering of course if this list was Imported and now the file no longer exists there... handle that too.

Adding the built in Windows 'Property' page to DC shouldn't be too hard - just a few API calls. Thanks for the other suggestions too.
