Insert date

Post by ebulerdo »

Good morning!

I need to search for certain text (e.g. %date%) and replace it with the current date. Is there a way to do that in TextCrawler?
Thanks!

Sorry, there isn't currently a function to automatically insert today's date. You'd have to enter the date manually into the replace expression.

Thanks for the reply.

I thought of a possibility: In the Standard tab there is an option to replace any text with the filename. It would be easy to name the file as the current date and use that function to replace %date% by the filename, which would do what I need. But I have no idea of how to call that function from the command-line as I do with batch replaces saved as .txc. I guess it isn't possible to do that, is it?

Thanks!

The 'replace with filename' command is availble in the batch processor - check the dropdown next to replace.
