Duplicate Cleaner Startup take a long time

I often need to wait for a minute.
It didn't seem to take this long when I first bought and installed DC 4.1.4

Resetting just means I must wait for about a minute for Duplicate Cleaner to restart. I have a lot of storage in the form of NAS. However, even if I turn these off it still takes a long time to restart. This happens with both the free and pro versions. I have turned off the option that remembers the last comparison. I don't know it the last comparison is saved in a file or does it search again. It seems like it searches and compares again before coming online no matter what I do.
To be more clear. The program does start immediately but then I get a swirling circle for a minute with the splash logo being displayed.

Which version of Windows? Some (Windows 7?) would hang for a while on start-up
