Will a 'regular mode' scan overwrite the database that I created with an 'image mode' search?
I spent 11 hours generating an 'image mode scan' and I'm worried that if I now do a 'regular mode' scan, I'll lose all that 'image mode scan' database that was generated.

It'll overwrite your current search results with the new one. Image mode metrics and hashes are cached though, so any subsequent scans are faster.
Alternately, you can copy and rename the results databases in C:\Users\[your user name]\AppData\Roaming\DigitalVolcano\DuplicateCleaner
