Questions about searching for duplicate JPG files

Hello,
I love this program because of its speed and design.
Should Image Mode always be used when searching for duplicate JPGs?
Would there ever be reasons/circumstances where Regular Mode would also be used for JPGs?
Thank you.
Brooks

If you are looking for, or suspect you have (100%) exact duplicates (i.e., including tags & whatnot), then a (Regular) search by Content is faster.

Cull those duplicates, first, then use the Image mode for "duplicate" files that may have differing tags (& whatnot).

Thanks for the help, Rube.

Yes, I have noticed that the Image searches take longer.

I have done as you said and used the Regular mode to find exact duplicates which is quick.

Afterwards, I found a set of duplicates searching manually using Windows Explorer where the photos looked almost identical. There was a very slight difference in file size. I changed the Similar Content to 50% and DCP still didn't flag them as dups. I asked support and they said "Similar search in Regular Mode won't usually find similar images as it looks at the binary data and the file contents will be very different." which I sort of don't understand but assume they are correct. But visually, the photos look identical.
