No DNG file in Thumbnail view

At the risk this has been asked before, when I switch to the duplicate Thumbnail view on the duplicate files tab DNG's are not displayed, just a placeholder indicating the file is a DNG file.
When issuing F3 previews are displayed, but its a bit tedious to F3 my way through in my case 1000 groups of duplicate dng's.
I am on Windows 10 build 1803 on new intel i7 8700K PC, the files show up in windows explorer.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
