Can't empty trash -

Post by RosemaryinCharlotte »

I'm double-posting as where to put this problem is not obvious to me (tired!).
I have used D.C. several times in the past with no issues except a computer that sighed with relief at getting rid of the excess. This afternoon, however, I deleted 1,066 files, with a size on disk of 2.15 GB. When I tried to empty the trash, I got a message: Cannot delete Dc1: Access is denied. Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use.
So, I moved everything into new folder on my desktop, and deleted ONE file. Now, when I attempt to empty, I get a "do you want to delete these 7 files" and I have only one file visible. Now what?

You may find some useful information in this thread:

"Selection Assistant"

You can delete files immediately and permanently by selecting them and pressing Shift+Delete.

You may also take a look at the Folder Options in Explorer and perhaps turn off hiding some types of files.
