Search for same files in a folder with similar file names

My backup and sync program has duplicated files within folders of my hard drive. For instance, DSC001.jpg now could have an additional files called DSC001 (1).JPG, DSC001 (2).JPG, DSC001 (*).JPG, etc. in that same folder.

That said, I don't want duplicate cleaner to identify the same file names if they are in different folders.

I'd like to search my entire set of picture folders to identify when there are duplicates like this. Of course, I only want to run the query once and have all results sort by folder with the duplicates identified.

Thanks for your advice.

I had thought that setting Master for each folder would have done it, but it does not.
Well, actually it does - if you don't set it to Scan Subfolders.

So if your directory layouts are conducive to that, then it should work.

Though I would think that if each folder and each subfolder could be set as Master, that would really be what you would need.

Rather than using Master it's easier to use the 'Same folder name' and 'Match full folder name' option in the More Duplicate Options section of the Criteria tab.

You can then use this with a 'Same Content' scan
