What does the Plus Sign ("+") denote in status-bar?

In the status-bar of the Duplicate Files listing (version 4.1.0), what does the "plus sign" mean? (see attached screen clip)
After a bit of testing, I answered my own question:
The total number of files marked is displayed, followed by the number in parentheses (with plus sign), indicating the incremental number of marks added by the most recent application of the Selection Assistant. If you use the Selection Assistant multiple times against the current Duplicate List, the total number of files selected increases by the increment shown in parentheses next to it.
