Did there used to be an option to delete selected files, rather than only being able to delete marked files?
I'd like to request this feature please. It would make the workflow much faster.

If you've selected files (but not marked them), you can mark them, rather simply, by hitting the space bar (or context-menu, Mark All Selected).
And then go to File Removal from there.

It's an extra step (or two, maybe)...

That said, I can see where it might be more convenient...
