Show folder in windows explorer

Hi, Am I missing something, been trying for a while now. When I right click a file and choose 'Show folder in Windows explorer' it does nothing, tried loads of times, do you need to select the 'Hard link option' for this to work, pulling my hair out here, can anyone help.. Please

Does your windows explorer run normally? Sounds like it is having trouble calling it. Which version of Windows are you running? Thanks!

I have noticed that when I go to start the option, it creates a new 'Explorer.exe' process, so im left with 2 explorer.exe processes. hope that helps.

Drop to a command prompt, type explorer.exe & hit a return.
Does Windows Explorer open?
Drop to a command prompt, type the following & hit a return.
Code: Select all
C:\> explorer.exe /e,/select,"C:\Windows"
Does Windows Explorer open with focus on the C:\Windows directory?
