Can the software be setup to just delete the duplicate files without having to manually select each file to delete?

I have about a ton of duplicate files all in the same folder with almost the same name.

I would like to just delete the duplicate files.

How can this be done?

After you scan your files with Duplicate Cleaner it has a tool called the Selection Assistant which can help you automatically select files. You can use the selection assistant to help select files for deletion (for instance "Select all but one in each group", or "select files with the lowest bitrate". To select earlier versions of the files you can use the 'Select by modified date/time->Select oldest files in each group' function.
