What is the Status of Duplicate Cleaner 3.x ?

Is it essentially EOL?
Or do you intend to develop it further? Bug fixes, enhancements, feature additions?

Will it, or some version of it remain, in particular so that Win XP users are able to still use the DC?


I guess what I really want to know is should I report bugs or RFE's against 3.x or simply make request against 4.beta ?

Version 3 will be kept available for Windows XP users. It won't have any new features added but if there are any showstopping bugs they will be fixed. All new development will be on version 4.0. Unfortunately version 4 won't run on XP due to it not supporting .NET Framework 4.5. The other reason is that the new file deletion/move update uses a Windows system library that isn't available on XP.

Interesting fact: according to analytics, about 4% of visitors to the website use XP. 50% Windows 7, but Win 10 is rising fast.
