Hi Forum

can someone tell me how this works? what the performance is like? Can I run this against 200GB worth of music? are we talking hours? days?

does it have to 'hash' the entire contents of each file?

Thanks,

It hashes the audio part of the file only (ignores tags, etc, unlike the standard hashing). Note it will only find as duplicates files with the exact same encoding, bit rate and sample rate. If you want to match files with different encodings you'll need to match by tags instead.

It depends on the speed of your drive, but it will take several hours with 200GB.
