What is "recycler"? Can I delete?

Hello, I discovered "duplicate cleaner" only recently, excellent software. In the root directory of my desktop (C:|) I came across a folder called "recycler". It appears that all the duplicates I deleted are in this folder. Double clicking on the individual files or folders within this folder just open a "properties" screen and not the file itself (music). When I tried to delete the folder "recycler" or the individual folders or files within this folder by using the "delete" command, it said "inaccessible". Also the the little "folder icon" next to the name is greyed out.
Is "recycler" a folder created by duplicate cleaner? Are all the files in it the delted files? How do I delete / empty this folder? Is this part of the "Windows recycle bin" or an independent folder? There is nothing mentioned about this in your "help guide". Thanks for the help.
