Folder Path Length Too Long

Post by pmerdth »

Noticed what seems to be a bug. I run the duplicate search and then select move files to another target folder. It says it has moved the files but hasn't. I run the duplicate search again and find the same duplicates in the original folder. After a bit of checking folder sizes etc I worked out that the target folder path length is too long because it starts from My Document etc. I shorten the path lengths down by cutting out some intermediary subfolders and it works. The bug is that there wasn't an error message about the long path length and it appeared to move the duplicates to the target folder.

What version are you running?
There was a bug fix in 3.2.2 dealing with long paths.
(Current is 3.2.3.)

Otherwise, the state of "long paths" in Windows, just generally sucks.
I run into path length problems all the time with all different softwares.

Thanks, I've logged this and will look at this for update 3.2.4

Windows is very inconsistent with long path names though!
