upgraded pro and now the scan does not finish

Post by jerry »

i tried the free version and was very impressed with the functionality. i wanted the duplicate folder option, so i upgraded (purchased the pro version). now the same scan that we performed with the "free" version fails each time due to a variety of errors, i.e., memory, loss of connection, etc. this is quite frustrating and i am curious if anyone else has experienced such issues. if so, do you have a suggestions for resolution.

Pro and Free work the same way, so I'm not sure why it is failing this time.
What is loss of connection - could it be a networking issue? How many files are you scanning and in which mode?

Thanks

I just reran the scan on a directory and received the following pop-up window ... "Error in Scan Process: Exception of Type 'System. OutofMemoryException' was thrown". The scan seems to hang at about 10% scan each time that I attempt to execute the scan of the directory.

The same scan, but are you now combining it with the duplicate folder option?
(Duplicate folder is not enabled in Free.)

What scan options are you using?
What are some properties of your scanned directory; files, sizes ...?

That is correct ... however, in "free" you can at least see which folders are duplicates ... you just cannot do anything with the results.

I am using the exact same options between "free" vs. "pro"
- regular mode = same content
- don't scan system files/ folders
- don't follow NTFS mount points
- image mode = defaults
- audio mode = defaults
